College Park Airport / Football Get Together

Kevin’s Adventurer Club had a family field trip to the College Park Airport in the morning. They got to see a plane up close and learn all about the different airplane parts. It turns out that the owner of the plane who taught the kids was a college classmate of mine – small world! He talked to the kids for 45 minutes, let each child sit inside (all buttons and wing flaps were moved), and took each one on the runway for a ride. Kevin and Justin especially enjoyed their rides in the plane, while Brian enjoyed being able to sit in the cockpit. Some friends invited us to their home for the guys to watch football. The guys watched downstairs on a large screen, we women sat in the kitchen and talked, and the boys played on all levels of the house. We were there for over five hours, and had a relaxing and pleasant time. It is so wonderful to visit with friends, with an added bonus that the boys (all seven of them) had a fun time and played together very well.
