Justin's Class Celebrates Easter

Justin’s class celebrated Easter today. The teachers had asked for parents help - and I had offered, but had Brian and Kevin with me (Kenton was in the office and Kevin on spring break). The teachers were happy for any bit of help. Kevin was as useful as any parent would have been, and thrilled to be a teachers helper. Here he works with two kids at a time helping them decorate a bag to place their goodies in. Justin dyes eggs for Easter. Brian says, “Where’s my eggs?” The assistant teacher lets Brian re-dye one of Justin’s eggs The teacher reads about the Easter story Justin gave each of his classmates a little Easter gift in a colorful gift bag. Kevin arranged the gift bags on the shelf as decoration. The Easter crafts were a palm branch and a paper rock that rolled away to reveal an empty tomb. I had helped each child with their craft - coloring, a lot of cutting, hole-punching, inserting a paper fastener, and writing their name on the back – quite a bit of work for a 4-year-old (and me with Brian). All three boys enjoyed the class today, especially the egg hunt. Kevin got to fill 100+ plastic eggs with candy. Then when the kids went to the library, he hid the eggs throughout the classroom. He hopes he can be a teachers helper again soon.
