Dad Scheduled For Second Cardiac Catheterization
8 PM: Dad feels better since having the blood transfusion. He says that he can breathe better because of it. They gave him two units of blood yesterday, and his hemoglobin level today is now up to 10.1 mg/dl. The doctor has decided to go forward with cardiac catheterization tomorrow morning at 7 am. We have been impressed with Dad’s doctor so far – Dad feels very comfortable with him. He takes the time to talk and explain everything to us, also calls Mom with updates. In fact, he cleared all his morning cases so that he could take as much time as needed with Dad's procedure. Please add the doctor (Dr. Bui) to your prayers today – pray that his hands and mind will be guided by God as where to best place the stents. It will be a long day of waiting tomorrow. Our family will especially need your prayers all morning.
Kenton and I and the boys, along with Darrell, his wife and son spent a couple of hours with Dad. Dad was happy to have his grandsons all there. They were constantly moving around the room and being their noisy and active selves. We left when they began to play hide-and-seek behind the curtain in the room. Brian especially has an earsplitting shriek, and when found - add that with Justin’s, Kevin's, and their cousin’s – it made an extrememly loud game.
I spoke with Dad today for about an hour and a half earlier today while the two younger boys took a nap. He feels satisfied with his accomplishments in life, and is happy to have been able to see his four grandsons. He says that if it is his time to go, it is okay with him – he has enough faith. Oh God, please, please – let my Dad have good health again.
3:30 AM: Earlier I couldn’t finish my blog. I’ve placed Dad back into God’s hands again where he should be. For some reason, every once in a while I have to take Dad’s health into my own hands and worry about it. I worry, I stress, I cry, I feel sick in the stomach - then I decide to place Dad back in God’s hands again. Dad’s procedure will begin in less than three hours ... I truly know and trust that God is in control.
