Trying To Re-Adjust to Eastern Standard Time

The kids were up before daybreak, and we waited until the mall would open to go out. We took the boys to Cartoon Cuts to get haircuts. I suppose we were one of the first ones there, because we didn't have to wait. Usually, the process takes well over an hour, sometimes a couple of hours when there is a waiting list. All three boys had their haircuts done at the same time with different stylists. We were out of there in less than half an hour. We then went bought groceries and school supplies.

It’s funny because we experienced a little bit of reverse culture shock. There aren’t many people here compared to China - and we’re in the DC metropolitan area. The streets, sidewalks, and even shopping areas seem empty. It is nice to be in our own place again though. For the past month, all five of us have been living in the same bedroom or hotel room.

The boys: The boys enjoy going to Cartoon Cuts. They like being able to pick out a video to watch while a stylist cuts their hair.

At around 1 pm, Kevin was really tired and wanted to go to sleep. We wouldn’t let him sleep because of school starting tomorrow. He kept trying to lay down and close his eyes, but we would have him sit up. He lasted until about 6:30 pm. Right after supper, he lay down on the sofa and was out for the night. No amount of trying to wake him up would work. He is the first of the five of us to re-adjust back to Eastern Standard Time.
