Kevin had Adventurers Club in the morning. At their meeting today, the kids earned the Road Safety Award (last month they earned the Courtesy Award). Afterwards, Kevin brought home one of his friends for a playdate.

We attended the Fire Prevention Poster Contest award ceremony at a local fire department, where Kevin was presented with a trophy for 2nd place. His poster was about the right and wrong way to use matches. Here is Kevin with his classmate, Alayna, who got 3rd place.

Grammie & Grandpa drove up to attend the ceremony too.

Then, Grammie & Grandpa took care of a sleeping Brian, while the rest of us attended a neighbor’s birthday party held at a local ice skate rink.

We all celebrated her birthday in one of the birthday rooms and had pizza and cake. Here is Justin with the birthday girl, Rebecca, and her cousin.
This was the first time for the boys to ice skate and they were excited to try. The rink area was so cold that I drove home to pick up their winter coats and gloves (other people there told us that the rink usually wasn’t that cold). Even through the cold and several falls, the boys had a lot of fun ice skating.
