Just Me And The Boys - Day 3

Both Kevin and Justin had class field trips to different farms. I accompanied Justin on his field trip since this was his first one. Siblings weren’t allowed to come, so Mom and Dad agreed to come to our house to take care of Brian.

JUSTIN’S FIELD TRIP TO CLARK’S ELIOAK FARM
Justin and I were one of the first from his class to arrive at the farm. While waiting for his classmates, he ran around in an open area where small hurdles were set up in a huge circle. There were over twenty kids running around the hurdles.

Justin ran and jumped for quite a while, then his classmates, Michelle and Zoe, joined him in ‘hurdling.’ When they were finished, the three of them posed for a picture before getting in line for the tour.

Our tour guide, Miss Kathy, showed us all the different animals at their farm. The kids were able to feed and even touch some of the animals. We saw goats, miniature horses, pigs, chickens, an emu, a donkey, a turkey, a rabbit, ducks, cows, and sheep. Justin laughed when feeding the animals. He said it was funny because “they licked my hand.”

After seeing the farm animals, the class went on a hayride and saw many structures originally from the Enchanted Forest, a storybook theme park. The hayride ended at the pumpkin patch, where each child was able to choose a pumpkin to take home. Justin picked a medium-sized one and wrote his name on the bottom of it.

Lunch was at the picnic tables. When he was finished, Justin went to run the hurdles once again. He also played in the ‘Old Lady In The Shoe’ for a long time, going up and sliding down over and over. It was a fun-filled day at the farm, and Justin thoroughly enjoyed his first class field trip.
KEVIN’S FIELD TRIP TO GREEN MEADOWS FARM
Kevin was paired up with his classmate, Sammy, and Sammy’s mother. He brought his digital camera so he could take pictures of his trip. He took some pretty good pictures. Here is a picture he took of some pumpkins.

The highlight of Kevin’s trip was trying to catch the chickens and ducks. He said that he and his buddies ran and ran, and were able to catch some baby black chickens. Another highlight of his trip was the gift shop. He bought a flute, two sticky lizards, and some fake baby chickens.

Here is a picture of a calf that Kevin took. He said they also saw horses, cows, chickens, geese, goats, llamas, pigs, ducks, and a bull. They were given the chance to milk one of the cows, but Kevin passed on the offer.

It was a very fun day at the farm because Kevin got to hang out with several of his friends. They just love to make silly faces. He says that he wants to visit Green Meadows again soon. Back at home, Mom said that she and Dad had an easy day with Brian because he slept for several hours. Darrell and family came over, and Beryl arrived later. We cooked, ate, and just spent time together as a family.
